Responsible for the coordination and oversight of internal and external design team activities during Phase 2 pre-FEED, Phase 3 FEED through to detail design.
Actively champions an incident and injury free work environment.
Manages the production of all engineering deliverables.
Determines optimum engineering staffing requirements to meet all the project milestone dates.
Ensures delivery of engineering deliverables that support cost estimates, scope definition, and schedule determinations.
Ensures adequate focus on inherent safety in design, reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety is included in the design.
Ensures quality of all engineering deliverables from external contractors.
Clearly defines scope of work of external contractors and effectively manages their design efforts.
Ensures that overall Design is developed consistently across all disciplines.
Ensures that corporate requirements on Safety in Design (SID), Inherent Process Safety, and HES Risk Management (RiskMan2) are incorporated into the design.
Incorporates project objectives relative to operability, reliability and maintainability.
Assesses project technology needs and develop associated acquisition plans.
Supervises project and discipline engineers, including PMP, SEs and career development responsibilities
The Engineering Manager’s team will review design deliverables from design contractors to ensure that the designs meet Project and Company technical specifications, business objectives, and safety, reliability, and operability requirements.
The Engineering Manager will provide the means to organize and manage the owner’s Engineering Team to effectively execute internal design efforts and effectively audit design activities developed by external contractors.
Employs Value Improving Practices (VIPs) as determined throughout the life of the project
